Don’t have regrets – life’s too short
Are you in your fifties and starting to feel like the hopes and dreams you had for your career or life one day are slowly slipping away?
When in our thirties and forties, it feels like we have all the time in the world to achieve our goals and even early fifties can feel like time is on our side.
But then another birthday goes by, and you start to realise that there are some things in life that you will never achieve. And that’s ok to a certain extent. It’s part of being human to be striving for a better life. Because once we stop doing that we can stagnate and become stuck in a rut.
And while there are definitely some things that won’t come to fruition (becoming a brain surgeon or getting the body you had at 25 years old) there is still time to work on some of those yearnings and dreams if you start now.
Research shows that participating in a coaching program will not only help you to achieve your goals but will also lead to better well-being outcomes. So, if you want to get out of your rut and into a more exciting future, thinking about it won’t get you there.
As the famous words from John Lennon said, ‘life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans’. And while you don’t have control over what life sends you, you do have some control over what direction you want to go in.
If you feel life is passing you by, don’t sit back just thinking about it – take action. If a goal seems too big, break it down into smaller pieces and start from there.
If you want some help, drop me a line and let’s see what’s possible before another year has gone by, and nothing has changed. Do you really want to look back and reflect on what you should have or could have done? Me neither!
