Are you in the wrong job?
If you feel like you are in the wrong career and you are not energised by your work, understanding your strengths at a deeper level can change all that. Often clients tell me they are in a career they ‘fell’ into. They did well and as they learnt more, the role grew, or they got promoted. And when they changed jobs, they automatically looked for the next step up. But that didn’t necessarily bring them the job satisfaction they were looking for.
I am sure a lot of people can relate to this. But if there is one good thing that the COVID pandemic has taught us is that life is too short to be in a job that makes us miserable or so stressed out that we can’t turn off from work.

Let’s look at the example of a client who had Resolver as a strength. They loved solving problems and the more complicated the better. They were very rarely beaten by a problem but equally didn’t know when to give up or to ask for help. And because they were known and recognised for that strength, it became a matter of pride to always help others out. As they became burnt out from overusing this strength, they moved into a role that had fewer opportunities for problem solving which is what they thought they wanted but then they became bored. If they had a better understanding of how they used their strengths, they may have stayed in the original role and put some boundaries into place.
