The rollercoaster of a sole business owner
When you are in business for yourself and you have lots of work that you love doing, it can seem like the easiest thing in the world. To be in your bliss and look forward to work each day while making money. What’s not to love?
But then those times come when there is nothing happening. Despite all your best efforts, new clients are not appearing. At those times, it feels like the hardest thing in the whole world. You start to doubt yourself – why would people pay me for this? And the more you reach out to people, it feels like the more you are ignored.
But just like the sun comes out again after the rain, clients suddenly appear, and it all seems to be easy again and you wonder why you ever felt it was difficult.
Why am I writing this? Because somebody out there needs to hear it. It can be a lonely business working for yourself and the ups and downs can be a roller coaster. But the ups make it so worthwhile and the downs are all part of life. If you are a sole business and going through a down time, feel free to reach out to me.
